1. Who we are

EverSafe is provided by EverLabs Software Ltd ("EverLabs", "we", "our" or "us"), based in Kent, England. Registered in England and Wales, company number 17079363. Registered office: 37 Brimstone Road, Ashford, TN26 2FA, United Kingdom. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. This policy explains what we collect when you use the EverSafe website, app and service, why, and what your rights are.

2. Information we collect

Your account

Your email address.
Your sign-in password, stored only as a one-way hash (Argon2id), never in plain text.
Your plan, subscription status and invoices.

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card details.

Your computers and backups

The EverSafe app sends us information needed to run and support the service, including:

each computer's name, Windows version and EverSafe version;
when backups ran, whether they succeeded, how many files and how much storage they use;
status and error messages from the app, and free disk space.

Your files

Your files are encrypted on your computer before they are uploaded. The list of files in each backup, including file names, is encrypted too. The encryption key is made from your encryption password, which never leaves your computer. We cannot read, access or decrypt your files.

When you contact us

If you use our contact form or email us, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply.

When you visit our website

Like most websites, our servers may record technical details such as your IP address when you visit, to keep the service secure. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies. See our cookie policy.

3. How we use your information

To provide the backup service and your online account.
To take payments and manage your subscription.
To send you service emails, for example if a computer stops backing up or a payment fails.
To answer your questions and provide support.
To keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
To keep records we are legally required to keep, such as accounting records.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account information and backups while your account exists.
If you cancel your subscription, your existing backups are not deleted and you can still restore them.
If you delete your account, your backups and account data are permanently deleted 15 days later.
If you replace a computer, the old computer's backups are kept for 90 days.
We keep invoices and payment records for as long as the law requires.

5. How we protect it

Backed-up files are encrypted on your computer with AES-256-GCM before upload.
Encryption keys are made from your encryption password with Argon2id and stay on your computer.
Data travels over encrypted (TLS) connections.
Backups are stored in data centres in the European Union, and stored copies are locked against changes for 14 days.
Access to our systems is restricted to the people who need it to run the service.

6. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run EverSafe:

Stripe, to take payments and manage subscriptions.
A cloud storage provider in the European Union, which stores your encrypted backups.
Our hosting and email providers, which run our servers and deliver our emails.

These providers process data on our behalf and have their own privacy policies. Stripe may process payment information outside the UK and European Union under its own safeguards. We don't sell your data.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR), you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
ask us to correct inaccurate data;
ask us to delete your data (you can also delete your account yourself in your online account);
object to or ask us to restrict how we use your data;
ask for a copy of your data in a portable format;
withdraw consent where we rely on it.

We only use cookies that are needed for the website to work. See our cookie policy.

9. Children

EverSafe is not intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
